Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA)
This year the Chiropractic Association of South Africa was active in encouraging all their members to participate in World Spine Day. This is a fantastic initiative; which CASA has always supported. This year however, after our transformation, we have had the energy to run an online campaign.
The legislation for chiropractic in South Africa has been in place for many years, and the profession is regulated by the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA). These regulations have allowed the profession to gain well deserved respect amongst other healthcare professionals.
CASA negotiated with the AHPCSA to ensure that members may participate in events promoting World Spine Day. With AHPCSA, CASA put in place a FaceBook campaign, a standard poster for screenings, with a set of guidelines, exclusive to South Africa.
South African Chiropractors have been allowed the 16th, 17th and 18th of October to be involved in free spinal screenings in their private practices. The response has been phenomenal.
